Welcome
My name is John Kopich, Captain of the Pennsylvania 69th Infantry Regiment. I would like to tell you about our organization. The Pa 69th Reenacting Organization is made up of proud Men, Women and Children who share the love of history and portray the Irish Soldiers who marched out of Philadelphia to fight in the American Civil War. Despite their devastating life in Ireland, these men believed in their new country and fought hard to preserve its freedom. We in the 69th are very fortunate to represent such a heroic regiment and to teach the public about life during the 1860s.
Reenacting is more then dressing up for the weekend and shooting muskets. We have the unique opportunity to live the way those Soldiers lived. We try to understand how they felt but we can only imagine their true feelings. We also have many aspects of the Regiment like preservation of battlefields, music of the period and Irish history. The 69th also has Civilians that portray women of the period which was a very important part of the War.
So, if you love history and feel that you would like to portray Soldiers and Women of the Civil War, the 69th can show you the way. You can contact us at anytime which we will answer all of your questions. I hope that you enjoy our web sites for they are filled with plenty of info about the Pa 69th.
Regards,
John Kopich,
Captain
Pa 69th Regiment
